Pipo Guru was born from two scenes. Everybody knows the first one: someone talking up front, and the whole room staring at their phones under the table. We figured the phone wasn't the enemy, it was the microphone that was missing.
The second one was the bill. Kahoot, Mentimeter and company charge in dollars, and the price for an average class already hurts the pocket of anyone teaching in Brazil. When it was affordable, something was missing: a game that didn't exist, a report that wouldn't come out, a capped audience right on the plan that fit the budget. We got tired of choosing between too expensive and incomplete.
what we believe in
No app to install, no account to create, no password. Whoever answers joins with a code and that's it. The entry barrier is the difference between the whole room joining in and three brave souls.
Points, streak, podium and ranking aren't decoration: they're what makes someone want to nail the next one. Taking content seriously doesn't mean treating the audience with solemnity.
Whoever joins a session gives a nickname and an emoji. That's it. We don't sell data, and measurement cookies only run if you accept them.
What's coming stays public, and anyone with an account votes on the priorities. The order changes with what we learn from the people who use it, and we really do look.
